My name is Anuj Khurana and in today’s video, we are going to discuss about 10 Phrases Which Our Parents Use a lot.
So let’s start.
1. सावधान रहो|
(saavdhaaN raho.)
Which means, “Be careful.”
सावधान रहो! वरना चोट लग जाएगी|
(SavaDHaaN raho varaNaa cot Lag jaayegii.)
“Be careful. Otherwise, you will get hurt.”
2. चुप रहो|
(chup raho.)
Which means, “Be quiet.”
Another phrase which parents use a lot is,
चुप रहो|
(chup raho.)
Which means, “Be quiet.”
चुप रहो पूजा चल रही है|
(cup raho puujaa caL rahii hai.)
“Be quiet, prayers are going on.”
3. सही बर्ताव करो|
(Sahii barTaav karo.)
Which means, “Behave properly.”
Another phrase is,
सही बर्ताव करो|
(Sahii barTaav karo.)
Which means, “Behave properly.”
सही बर्ताव करो वरना तुम्हे सजा मिलेगी।
Sahii barTaav karo varaNaa Tumhen Sazaa miLegii.
“Behave properly. Otherwise, you will get punished.”
4. अपना होमवर्क करो!
(apNaa homwark karo!)
Which means, “Do your homework!”
Next phrase is,
अपना होमवर्क करो!
(apNaa homwark karo!)
“Finish your homework!”
5. सोने जाओ।
(SoNe jaao.)
“Go to bed.”
Next phrase is,
सोने जाओ।
(SoNe jaao.)
Which means, “go to sleep.”
सोने जाओ बहुत देर हो चुकी है।
(SoNe jaao, bahuT Der ho cukii hai.)
“Go to sleep, it’s already too late.”
6. क्या तुमने अपने दाँत माँजे?
(kyaa TumNe apNe DaanT maanje?)
“Did you brush your teeth?”
Okay. Another phrase is,
क्या तुमने अपने दाँत माँजे?
(kyaa TumNe apNe DaanT maanje?)
“Did you brush your teeth?”
क्या तुमने अपने दाँत माँजे?
(kyaa TumNe apNe DaanT maanje?)
7. रूक जाओ।
(ruk jaao.)
“Stop.”
Next phrase is,
रूक जाओ।
(ruk jaao.)
“Stop.”
रूक जाओ। वरना ये टूट जाएगा
(ruk jaao varaNaa yah tuut jaayegaa.)
“Stop. Otherwise, it will break.”
8. मैं तीन तक गिनने वाला हूँ।
(main TiiN Tak giNNe vaalaa huun.)
“I'm going to count to three.”
Next phrase is,
मैं तीन तक गिनती करूगा।
(main TiiN Tak giNaTii karuungaa)
“I will count till three.”
मैं तीन तक गिनती करूगा और अगर तुम चुप नहीं हुए तो तुम्हें मार पड़ेगी।
(main TiiN Tak giNaTii karuungaa. Agar Tum cup Nahiin huye To Tumhen maar padegii.)
“I will count till three and if you don’t stop crying, you will get punched.”
9. मैं मजाक नहीं कर रहा।
(main mazaak Nahiin kar rahaa.)
“I'm not kidding.”
Another phrase is,
मैं मजाक नहीं कर रहा हूँ।
(main mazaak Nahiin kar rahaa hun.)
“I am not joking.”
मैं मजाक नहीं कर रहा हूँ। अगर तुमने यह दोहराया तो अच्छा नहीं होगा।
(main mazaak Nahiin kar rahaa hun, agar TumaNe yah Doharaayaa, To acchaa Nahiin hogaa.)
मैं मजाक नहीं कर रहा हूँ। अगर तुमने दोहराया तो अच्छा नहीं होगा।

“I am not kidding. If you repeat this, then, it will not be good for you.”
10. अब टीवी बंद करो।
(ab tiivii baND karo.)
“Turn the TV off now.”
Another interesting phrase is,
अब टीवी बंद करो।
(ab tiivii baND karo.)
“Switch off the TV now.”
अब टीवी बंद करो।
(ab tiivii baND karo.)
Well, these are the phrases which our parents use a lot. And while making this video, I was just going back to my childhood because trust me, I have listened to these phrases every day from my parents.
