You'll learn how these key phrases work by breaking them down into each component. Then through repetition and new vocabulary, you'll expand your understanding of the question, its answers, and any variations.)
In this lesson, you'll learn how to respond to the common question ""What's wrong?"" In Hindi this is
B: क्या गड़बड़ है?
The first word in the question is
B: क्या
A: ""meaning what "" in English.
B: (Slow, by syllable) क्या
A: Listen again and repeat.
B: क्या

A: This pattern of first introducing a word at natural speed, providing the translation, breaking it down, and then giving it again at natural speed will be repeated throughout the series. Try to speak aloud as often as possible. The next word in the question is
B: गड़बड़
A: meaning wrong.
B: (Slow, by syllable) गड़बड़
A: Now repeat.
B: गड़बड़

Listen to the first 2 words of the question and repeat.

meaning tired.

A:Now repeat.

A: And next
B: हूँ
meaning am .
B: (Slow, by syllable) हूँ

A: Listen to the speaker say, I'm tired., and then repeat.
B: मै थक गया हूँ

A: To expand on the pattern, replace tired with anxious.
B: चिन्तित
A: anxious
B: (slow) चिन्तित (regular) चिन्तित
A: Listen to the phrase again, this time with anxious
B: मै चिन्तित हूँ
A: It mostly stays the same. Simply replace tired. Say I'm anxious.

A: To make another phrase, replace anxious with scared.
B: डरा हुआ
A: scared
B: (slow) डरा हुआ (regular) डरा हुआ
A: Listen to the phrase again, this time with scared

A: It mostly stays the same. Simply replace anxious. Say I'm scared.

A: To expand on the pattern, replace scared with embarrassed.

A: Now you want to say I'm anxious. Respond to the question.

A: You want to say I'm scared.. . Answer the speaker's question.
B: क्या गड़बड़ है? (five seconds) मै डरा हुआ हूँ
A: Imagine you're embarrassed. Respond to the question.
B: क्या गड़बड़ है? (five seconds) मै शर्मिंदा हूँ
A: Now you want to ask someone what's wrong. Ask the question
